What Kind of World Would You Love To Live In?
What Is Your Vision for Your Life, Relationships, Work, Community?
As I embark upon this journey of making more videos and starting a podcast, it occurred to me that this would be a great time to write down my vision, mission, and values.
Sure, this is posted on the website, but who goes looking for someone's vision statement?
The reason I wanted to do this now is to have a guide for myself and prospective guests on the show. What is this really about? Why does it even matter in the end?
The unexpected bit came about as I found myself reflecting on how things have shifted.
I started my vision statement with the notions I have had since early on in my healing practice. But like so many of us, the last three years has changed me.
How did that old vision stand the test of time? Not so well.
The benefits of this exercise really began to surface as I found my energy responding to some parts (the parts that remain), while rejecting others, the things I had carried in from the before-times. I thought I knew my own vision, but did I really?
I am no longer day dreaming about a health system that treats the whole person. Sure, maybe someday, that would be great. And thankfully, we have seeds being planted now on this front.
But what's far more important in the here and now? Where should my focus be?
Now I am envisioning this: a world where people are far more tapped into spirit and their own inner knowing.
I used to believe that the role of healing could be handed off to a group of caring individuals. That most people would always be too busy to ever be the ones to know what was needed, how to help themselves.
These ideas weren't explicit in my vision, but they were definitely there, embedded and assumed. Baggage from an old world view.
What has changed?
I now see how critically important it is for everyone to take ever more responsibility for their own health and healing. In this context, what I mean by responsibility is the ability to respond, and to do so with awareness.
This does not mean that everything that happens to you is your fault, or that you are entirely responsible (“to blame”) for causing or alone in solving it.
What it does mean is that we benefit greatly when we are consciously aware of the choices that we make in any area of our lives. It means that what we feel and hear in our hearts should be an equal or louder voice than the voice outside of us telling us what to do with our own bodies.
So yes, after witnessing the events of the last three years - and after observing how we are moving through a great change... my vision now focuses far more on helping people tap into their inner knowing.
This focus is also applicable to more than healing. Whether you are bombarded with news of failing banks, crazy political events, or “the next” pandemic… being tapped into an inner source of information, perspective, and experience can be a life changer, and maybe a life saver.
When we are connected with spirit (higher self), when we are really connected, we are less easily manipulated at a deep level by the storms that sweep over humanity. It doesn't mean we are not affected. It doesn't mean choices are easy.
But it does mean that when push comes to shove, we're more empowered to tell the pushers to shove off.
Of course it’s not all push and shove. Far from it.
In the wake of so much change, I also see communities small and large forming in all directions. Where I used to see healing being the charge of the few, perhaps we will have more and more opportunities to help one another as we help ourselves. Peer to peer health and wellness. Decentralized knowledge and experience.
This doesn’t mean expertise, skill, and training goes out the window. It just means we may have more freedom, and expansion in the ways we can learn, share, and choose our way forward — if we choose to bring these aspects into being.
What started as a task in my to do list has revealed itself to be yet another reminder of how important focus is.
I love the line "where attention goes, energy flows"... if we want to be effective at anything, we cannot be trying to do everything. Obvious? Yes, but still a hard lesson for many.
When's the last time you sat down and wrote out the vision you have for your life, your relationships, family or community? What is your vision for the kind of world you would love to live in?
What are you doing today to move one step closer to that vision?

How Do You Navigate Times of Great Change?
The High Mesa Mystic Show is looking for pioneering artists, healers, guides, entrepreneurs, and exoconscious humans.
What is an exoconscious human? To me, it simply refers to anyone that has had experiences or communication with other forms of consciousness (plants, animals, water, spirit guides, aliens).
It refers to people that understand how pervasive consciousness is - and have a point of view about our place in the universe.
So come tell your story, share your work or latest projects.
This is how we help one another stay grounded and productive no matter what is happening around us.
